The Patriarchal Church is obsessed with sex - especially for women, lol. They want to control everyone so that even in bed with your hand you're guilty of MORTAL SIN & will go to Hell unless repented, confessed, etc. There is something strange here in that God put the sex drive into all animals, including us, & yet the THOUGHT or DESIRE for this is automatically SIN. And so all animals if they could sin - would be sinners, & all humans, if they even THINK of wanting sex - are condemned. Does it make you wonder what is going on? Not saying there is no sexual sin - there is, & they are being committed. To rape or abuse someone innocent, or even a vulerable adult is SIN {vulnerable coud be they are in a position to be exploited or else the rapist LIES to them re favors or privileges if they give in, or the job they have they would be fired from if they dont do it, etc}, to be sure. Mostly men do this. But it's mostly women that are punished, like the woman caught in adultery but where was the man? And were it not for Jesus, they woud have murdered her.
Indeed, well said, Rasa. It is absolutely insane how obsessed the patriarchal religions are obsessed with sex, and how they fear and loathe it so much. Freud would have a field day at what is most likely a "reaction formation" on their part. Or as Shakespeare would say, "methinks [they] doth protest too much", lol. Modern-day Pharisees, the lot of them!
ReplyDeleteAnd also the related obsession with the equally specious and outmoded notion that sex must only be for procreation, not for pleasure. And that the only acceptable form of birth control is the rhythm method / NFP (Vatican Roulette) that literally sets its users up to fail sooner or later. This is clearly about not only power and control (though there is plenty of that too), but also to artificially inflate the birth rate to prop up the Ponzi and pyramid scheme that is patriarchy and it's notorious brainchildren, capitalism, imperialism and militarism. They of course need more slaves, serfs, and cannon fodder to keep their vile homicidal, genocidal, gynocidal, and ecocidal scheme going. And keeping people, especially Women, trapped in poverty and desperation makes them that much easier to control. Note how Ireland, for example, didn't even begin to get out of their quagmire of poverty and colonialism until after birth control was belatedly legalized in 1979, basically a microcosm for the world at large. Then afterwards, they became the "Celtic Tiger" economy, the envy of so many other countries.
