see my COMMENT See the dcumentary @ the end -The Ballroom of Romance (1982)

No one except the Irish could UNDERSTAND this movie unless they watch the documentary at the end. First of all, the brogue. Second, they don't seem to speak clearly or loud enough. I heard & got about 10% of it. Next, the colloqualisms. Phrases known to the Irish & possibly, only at that era - maybe not today. So an Irish person would know 'this is what he is probably saying' whereas I'm going 'WTF is he or she saying?' Even the beginning the Dad is asking his daughter if she is going to the dance - he doesn't say it in the King's English but some type of Irish slant - I could not understand it. Then the end I COMPLETELY did not see. Only when watched the documentary I realized he lured her 'into the field' after the dance - that means he SHAGGED {f_d} her. And it tells me we see the night, it turns to day, that means they were there until dawn. Lots of shags I guess. And they tell me he drinks his flask & SMIRKS {I didn't see that} because all he wanted was to get her in the field. And then they tell me she cycles away in her direction, to her house & we SADLY KNOW she's going to marry this loser. I missed most of this & in between missed most of it also. So watch the documentary at the end or else you will not appreciate this fully.
