Rasa’s personal report – Best friend no more? New friend coming to live with me – Going to Preach on the Street Again!

Right now I am doing lots of yard work, which I neglected completely for 3 years while dating. The place overgrew like Sleeping Beauty's Castle. I could not get my mind on it. But finally I'm able to function & how I love being outdoors instead of locked up inside all the time! It's hard work but easy when my mind is on it- taking down wild rose bushes, & other thorny plants like rampant black berries, & hauling them into the woods. I worked 5 hours a day, three days in a row doing this, & got an incredible amount done in a short time. I think within two months I will have it all fixed then maintenance will not be as bad. Then I have "bamboo" - thousands of bamboos grew out of groves onto my lawn.
Also have sumac falling down onto the pathways with vines all over, had to cut down & haul away. I'm doing this all by myself.
Then there are trees fallen down, big branches, some weighing tons, near the house & into the yard & pathways. I can do some of it, but a man with chainsaw is needed.
I called the electric & cable TV companies to take a look at this 100 year old Maple tree behind my house which is falling down, slowly, by the grace of God each many-tons branch missing my house. The tree honors me, as I hug it & talk to it, it has missed my house several times. But now the branches on the other side, toward the lawn, could pull down electric wires there, so I hope these companies can finish the job of cutting some or all of it down. My task will be to have it hauled away but I have a man with a chainsaw who also wants the wood, as he heats with it.
I have a best friend, Rudy, who’s been my mainstay for years. He helps me in all dramas like car battery dying, taking dog to emergency vet in the middle of the night, comforting me while I suffer through an agonizing chest muscle seizure, & he does all my mowing - which is tricky with a 5 acre lawn up & down hills & has a creek you can topple into if you are not careful.
But I might not have Rudy any more because his life has taken a turn for the worse, & he might either move far from here to Las Vegas, or else, he might die. I had a dream a couple months ago he died, & it worried me but I know that a death dream could also mean "end of relationship." Either way, it worried me, as he’s the only friend I have here (after twenty years residence)!
Sure enough, in the last week I found out why I had the dream.
Rudy was here recently & he told me,
"I dreamed I went to Hobo Heaven, saw my Grandparents, & I didn't want to come back."
Rudy had an accident, when a farm machinery ran over him at age 7 & he 's been partially crippled & in pain ever since. But he's gotten around ok most of the time & helps everyone. – Some of these people take advantage of his lonely, isolated state (divorced, family not in this area, crippled & the only Jewish person around, they use him & ridicule him in front of & behind his back.)
He is now age 58 & the doctor told him that unless he has those ankles broken again & straightened out, he probably will not be walking. But his insurance will not pay for this!
So right now Rudy is losing his will to live.
I called him & left a message that I wanted to know more about his dream, but I heard him say with his mind,
"Don't bother me, just let me die in peace."
I don't know what to do about this, but I have started praying for his healing.
Rudy’s absence concerns me, but I have made some progress, have gotten in touch with my previous carpenter (fences falling down, house needs repair) who will be available soon, & a man to handle the growing & fallen wood. As far as mowing, if worst comes to worst, I can do some or all of it with the hand mower. The exercise would be part of my fitness routine. It would take maybe 10 hours – pulling or pushing a lawn mower up hills gives great resistance training for the legs & arms.
I can run the riding mower once it’s up where the ground is level, but am too scared to go up & down hills with it, & I will not trust just any guy to do it for me, as I assure you, it can be dangerous. I had a boy almost slip down the hill with my riding mower when my grass was wet – he stopped just in time. People don’t realize how tricky farm machinery can be – you have to have experience. There are many terrible accidents & deaths out in rural areas by way of machinery. And so, my solution is, that unless I find a competent, mature person to ride the mower, I will do it all myself by hand.
DISCIPLE COMING TO LIVE WITH ME
On another note, it could be God’s timing that a houseman, who has been my disciple for seven years, is coming to live with me. He’s not the outdoor labor type, although he can help with unskilled work out there, but he is more for cooking, cleaning & computer work.
It really helps to have a good friend close to you, & Raleigh is that. He is many good things. Like my beloved Rudy, he has a heart of gold & his soul is as pure as the driven snow. He is educated in an Ivy-League University & has a master’s degree in psychology. He’s been a social worker all his life, & at the age of 58, the employment world is coming down on him through age discrimination. They’re making him do work harder than ever & paying him less – it’s time for a change.
Being with me will enable Raleigh to do the one-on-one empowerment of women & the poor, which he loves, & he knows that I will be a fair & loving employer.
Raleigh is going to be, I hope, a great force for good around here. Besides helping with the mundane work of life, he’s good for the world mission. I’m going to show him what I know about book formatting, & will hire a professional to get us both up to snuff. Then, I can continue to produce books routinely without outside help.
I’M GOING TO PREACH ON THE STREET AGAIN!
I got an insight the other day that it would be good for me to preach on the street again. This time it will be different. Last time I worked for 2.5 months in the dead of winter, all bundled up, less people out on the streets.
This time, it’ll be summer. Will be more fun to work outside, more people about, & when they see my body, it will draw them to me. Just the other day I was wearing shorts & a pretty top & the kids who know me from downtown were waving at me, calling my name, & men whistled at me. I loved the attention!
I’m now a downtown “celebrity” & wherever I go, people recognize me. Last time I worked the streets, no one knew me. When people know you, it’s much easier to get your point across - I have kids come up to me downtown all the time to hear what I have to say.
You know I love to deliver a message – love to teach & preach, & I’m good at it. Do what you’re good at & it will bear fruit. And it isn’t just for them, ministry in reverse means they minister to me while I do them – it’s an exchange of energy. Yes, I’m lonely. But not sure if having the boy I love will take all my loneliness away – while he’s with me I’m sure I’ll still have the need to do my work.
THE BOY I LOVE
It’s been predicted that Pablo, the boy I love, will begin talking to me soon – possibly June 16, then our relationship begins. He will eventually live with me. I will help him find himself; he’ll give me the love I’ve never had. So it is told to me by God.
But if for some reason, he does not come to me, I know this – God will give me another young man, just as fine as he is, to love me. Whichever way it works, I will find love, as God has promised it to me. It will be the first time in my life that I am in love with someone who returns that love. I stand on the promises God has given me.
