You are very welcome, Ajax! I have been following these people since I discovered them on the ground-breaking documentary From The Heart of the World: The Elder Brothers' Warning shown by the BBC back in 1991. I know Alan Ereira, who directed this film. He endorsed my book Saving Mother Ocean, in which I mentioned the Kogi. These people made a second film entitled Aluna because the "Younger Brother" had not listened to what they said in the first one and so our destruction of the world had continued due to mining, drilling, deforestation, pollution and altering the courses of rivers. The Kogi believe in the Great Mother as our creator. They believe where they live in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is the "Heart of the World," and that they were given special instructions on how to care for the planet as guardians. They believe they were made before the "Younger Brother," and because of his destructive actions he was sent across the sea, which allowed them to live in peace and to carry on their sacred work. This ended when the Younger Brother returned in the form of Spanish invaders. From The Heart of the World can be seen online here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJNpMxhO4Ic
Interesting insights overall in this video. Thank you Steve for sharing!
