Don Bosco Saw Our Education Crisis 170 Years Ago | Ep. 318

Prayer in School

The last year that prayer remained in school I was in High School, & it was my blessing to have been chosen {I raised my hand every time the teacher asked who wanted to read the Bible so he finally said, you read every day} to read the bible in home room every morning. Each time we had a school assembly I was also chosen to read the bible. And then Mrs Madelaine Murray O'Hare sued re Church & state & prayers & bible readings ended. But I got my chance to be a part of the prayers while it lasted, - I thank God for the privilege. As a small child - {6 years} I also started a club under the name of Our Holy Mother - I guided several kids in the Power of prayer, lol, which got us out of scrapes during our adventures. We all had rings with Her portrait on them. Once we got locked into the school auditorium where we wandered in before our Religious class, we couldn't get out. I told them to kneel & we started saying the rosary, & suddenly a man opened the door from the outside, we ran like Hell passed him, lol - he was startled.
