Sorry no brownie. This has got to be the WORST Anna Karenina I've seen. Why? Mostly the DIRECTION, the camera work is WRONG. But the actors also don't make it. She is NOT ATTRACTIVE. He's handsome but needs darker makeup for his eyelashes & eyebrows, eyes in general are too 'paled out'. Trying to understand what's wrong, it goes like this: The 2 of them are supposed to have an immediate sexual attraction - which is forbidden so it makes it dramatic. But you don't see it here, when they meets it's completely bland, like just another person in front of me. In the good versions I saw the closeups are utterly important, the facial language. You see the interest/desire in her face right away but she tries to be gracious & hide it - it's all in the face! But this movie shows no facial closeups of that sort! And the Count - you see a burning desire in his face & eyes when he sees her, it's strong, it's masculine. But this does NOT show that at all. Therefore, the movie has NO MOTIVATION. It's dull & dreary, I stopped watching & will not see any of the other episides. Usually MT does wonders but this here just left me wondering.
