The 'preventative' system of Don Bosco to maintain order rather than the 'punitive' method. How did he keep hundreds of boys in the oratory, many delinquents, from going awry? I heard this but I still do't understand, lol. Myself, I am known to be 'too nice' by some. It seems Don Bosco was also 'too nice' but HIS niceness worked while mine - not so sure. Perhaps because I deal with adults, who are hardened in sin, rather than youth, who are pliable & able to learn. Yes, when I did minister to youth I was successful by being extremey kind - just like Don Bosco. The only punishment was to ban them from further attendance at our oratory {my apt.}
